I was asked the question, “Where are the four horsemen now?”
These riders appear when the first seals on the scroll held by Jesus Christ in heaven as witnessed by John are broken. The
scroll is the title deed to the earth given to Lucifer aka Satan by Adam when Adam chose to be with Eve instead of God.
We need to understand who owns the earth.
All witnessing must be done by two or three witnesses according to God’s laws.
The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only. Luke 4:5-7.
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me. Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only. ” Matthew 4: 8-10.
Notice that Jesus does not dispute the ownership of the world; He acknowledges it in His replies. The created being, Lucifer, was tempting the Creator Being and expecting to win.
For space reasons I will summarize the role of the kinsman redeemer laid out in Ruth. It is essential to the understanding of the scroll. Do take the time to read it, in particular Ruth 4:1-12. In Israel nobody could permanently sell their land because it was considered to be God given. They could temporarily sell it until the restoration day when all ownership reverted back to the first owner. When the land was sold the transaction was witnessed and recorded on a scroll. To save space both the smooth side and the rough side were used with the rough side detailing the conditions for opening the scroll. This scroll was sealed and put away for safekeeping.
If something happened to the original owner a kinsman could show up and redeem ownership of the land by paying the price. He was known as the kinsman redeemer. But, three things had to be true for redemption to take place. He had to be a legitimate relation; he had to be able to pay the price; and he had to meet the conditions set out in the law. Again, read Ruth to understand this crucial concept. In a great love story Boaz redeems the land for Ruth and accepts Ruth as part of the package. He also takes Naomi, Ruth’s mother-in-law. This has been super compressed.
In Revelation we see the scroll in Heaven and it is the title deed to the earth. Christ is the kinsman to all people. He paid for the title to the earth with His blood. He could only do it by being pure and unblemished as the sacrificial lamb must be by God’s Law. From that moment the title was held in escrow just as when we buy a house. We own it, but we take possession later. In Heaven and on earth there was no one but Christ that could open the scroll in His capacity of Kinsman Redeemer.
Breaking the first seal marks the beginning of the tribulation. The first rider is commanded to “GO!” The rider of the White Horse appears and the Antichrist or counterfeit Christ begins his reign of terror.
Part 2 follows.
